How do I operate?

As a sole trader I do not offer forklift truck training in dedicated training centre, instead I deliver it on the client’s own premises using the client’s own equipment.

Where do I operate?

I am operating in areas around South Wales, such as Cardiff, Newport, Swansea, Port Talbot, Pontypool just to name a few. I am also operating in areas around South West England, such as Bristol, Swindon, Gloucester, Bath, Weston–Super-Mare. If you are interested and would like to learn more, please contact me.

History behind Alway Forklift Training

Good day, my name is Povilas. Originally, I’m from Lithuania, and for the past eight years I’ve been living in Wales.

In the Summer of 2017, I started to work as a Forklift Truck operator in a large distribution centre owned by a company called “The Range”. While working there, I got a chance to operate different Forklift Trucks, ranging from simple Pallet trucks, to more complex Counterbalance or Reach Forklift Trucks. Eventually, I realised I want a change, I want a new challenge. Luckily at the time there was a team leader position that was available, so without wasting any time I have sent my application. Shortly after applying I was invited for an interview and eventually got the job. I guess I made a good impression. I spent the next year working as, as well as learning what it is like to be a manager. As good as that job was, I kept thinking that this is not what I truly want to do for a job. I did something that at first, I regretted, I resigned from my role as a team leader. I realised, that role was not for me. I always preferred direct, hands-on work, rather than a job where I had to spend an entire day in front of a computer screen. I knew that going back to a role of forklift truck operator would not cut it, I knew I needed to keep looking. One day, it came to me, a simple idea. Instead of being a forklift truck operator I could train others how to be one. After all, my driving standards were excellent. I knew immediately that this is going to be the job I was trying to find all this time. It required two things that I was good at, knowing how to drive a forklift truck and the ability to inspire, support and help people who want to learn how to drive forklift trucks.

My first step towards becoming a Forklift Truck Driving Instructor was to achieve an instructor's license. I have found a Forklift Training Centre in Bristol, and there I attended a Forklift Instructor course to become a Category 1 R.T.I.T.B. (Road Transport Industry Training Board) & A.I.T.T (Association of Industrial Truck Trainers) Forklift Instructor.

Since achieving my Forklift Instructor License in the Spring of 2020, I have worked as a Forklift Instructor for training centres in South Wales and South West England, but eventually I decided that the best option for me is to work on my own as a Sole Trader.

My first step towards independent Forklift Driving Training was to decide what kind of practice I want to do. I decided that In-House Forklift Truck Training would be the best option for me. This way I could adjust my training courses to my customers' needs, eliminating any unnecessary parts, which would not benefit the client.
